Day 7

Yet another early awakening this morning 7:30 God we hope we get on the time zone soon its killing our evenings. Anyway we had breakfast in the hotel and was ready by about 9:00 so we got the car out and headed towards Golden Gate Bridge to try and beat the traffic, it worked we were there in no time BUT the weather was not on our side, it was cloudy windy and cold, but we still got a few pictures and promised to come back later in the afternoon if the weather improved. On the way back from the bridge we came down the twisty bit of Lombard Street which was cool, anyway it was worth it for the video and pictures. After this we got back to our hotel to park the car and head out on foot. The weather was now improving but we are still surprised just how nippy it is in August. We walked round the corner to the Cable Car stop and jumped onboard for the bumpy ride up and down the streets of San Francisco, it was cool if not a bit cheesy but it was one of the touristy things we had to do. So with that ticked off we then found ourselves in Union Square and nothing to do, so we headed back on the “F” back to Fisherman’s Wharf. The “F” is a electric tram that quite frankly was way to full for our liking and I could see Lorna getting the beginnings of a panic attack, fortunately we got to the end before we had to hack our way through the bodies and get her off. It was now late afternoon and we were ready for lunch, this was dealt with by a nice restaurant at the Cannery. This was where Lorna saw her Big Red Shiny Mack Fire Engine again and Marilyn was just setting off with new victims, this was great for Lorna as she sung the famous crappy song as the old engine drove off. After this we went back to the hotel to pick up the car to try and get better photos of the bridge BUT the traffic was so bad we bailed and headed back to the hotel for a game of Shuffleboard where Lorna beat the hell out of me. (I fancy a re match). Tonight is our last here in SF so we will have a nice meal and hopefully a good nights sleep that lasts until a reasonable time tomorrow morning.
